Completed while in residence at the Playa Foundation in southeastern Oregon, this series of miniatures documents the weirdness and loveliness of Summer Lake and Abert Lake\u2014shallow, alkaline bodies of water that occupy the basin of ancient Lake Chewaucan, a late Pleistocene lake that once covered 480 square miles.<\/p>\n
